Artist & Illustrator

About

Nyx is a visual artist and illustrator who primarily works with watercolour, gouache, and ink from her home studio on Vancouver Island. Her work reflects her love of the natural world, and she derives much of her inspiration from flora and fauna, mythology, the intricacies of colour, and the forests and mountains of Cascadia. Through her work, she strives to reflect the transcendental beauty of the earth and the magic it contains, and seeks to highlight small subtle moments of ethereal beauty that exist in the natural world that may otherwise go unnoticed.

She recently expanded her craft to ceramics and has spent the past year exploring and experimenting with clay as a medium, creating functional pottery in soft earth tones while leaning in to the beauty of simplicity.

When she’s not creating, Nyx can be found exploring natural spaces, photographing local plants and wildlife, and collecting bits of leaves, twigs, and other forest treasures found in her wanderings.
